This preparation may cause severe skin inflammation in some individuals and a preliminary sensitivity test must always be conducted to determine if there is any unusual sensitivity. Clean a small area of skin behind the ear or on the inside of the forearm with water and soap or alcohol. Apply a small amount of the ready-to-use dye to the area and allow it to dry. After 24 hours, gently wash the area with water and soap. If no irritation or inflammation is apparent, it is generally assumed that there is no hypersensitivity to the dye. However, the test should be carried out before every use. Under no circumstances should the dye be used on eyebrows or eyelashes as this may cause severe eye inflammation or even blindness. Rinse the hair thoroughly after application. Temporary "black henna" tattoos may increase your risk of allergy.

Do not colour your hair if: you have a rash on your face or a sensitive, irritated, or damaged scalp; you have previously experienced a reaction after colouring your hair; you have had a reaction to a temporary "black henna" tattoo in the past.
