Grapefruit and plum

The opening sets two fruits against each other. Grapefruit gives a bitter, lively freshness and plum a dark, almost wine-like sweetness.

This tension between bright and dark holds the first half hour. The grapefruit fades faster while the plum stays and leads over into the heavy base.

Orchid and heliotrope

The heart is kept narrow and serves as a transition. Orchid smells floral and lightly creamy, without the weight of classic white blossoms.

Heliotrope brings a powdery, almond-like sweetness strongly reminiscent of marzipan. Together they prepare the base and soften the shift from fruit to warmth.

Six materials in the base

This is where the weight of the fragrance sits. Vanilla and tonka give creamy sweetness with a hint of almond, amber and benzoin resinous width.

Oudh brings dark, resinous wood and labdanum a leathery, almost animalic depth. These six materials all work in the same direction and make a warm, dense ground tone that holds for many hours.

Why the base is built so densely

Six materials in one base is unusually many. In Eternal Oud that is deliberate: vanilla, tonka, amber, benzoin, oudh and labdanum overlap and produce a warmth no single material could deliver alone.

The effect shows mainly in the length. Where many fruity fragrances vanish after three hours, this one keeps working and changes only slowly from then on.

How it behaves on skin

The grapefruit holds for about twenty minutes, the plum considerably longer. Then the heliotrope pushes forward and makes the move into the base soft and powdery.

From the second hour the base works fully. Vanilla and tonka give sweetness, oudh and labdanum depth. This phase lasts longest and shapes the fragrance most strongly.

Testing Eternal Oud for the first time, give it three hours. Worn on clothing it reads calmer and is easier to control than directly on skin.

How to wear it

It projects widely, so go sparingly. Neck and wrist are enough for most occasions.

On clothing Eternal Oud stays particularly long and is often still noticeable the following day. Store the bottle away from light at room temperature so oudh and labdanum keep their depth.
