Oudh Ispahan by Sultan Essancy – Eau de Parfum for women and men

Top note: labdanum
Heart note: roses, saffron, patchouli
Base note: Oudh, sandalwood, cedar

Oudh Ispahan by Sultan Essancy combines resinous labdanum with rose, patchouli and saffron, supported by oud, sandalwood and cedar. The scent image is warm, dark and floral-woody. Rose provides velvety color, while resin, spice and timber add depth, dryness and a more oriental mood.

With so few ingredients, every material has room to make itself felt. Labdanum begins with balsamic warmth, rose adds floral richness, saffron contributes dry spice, and patchouli brings earthiness. Oud, sandalwood and cedar then strengthen the woody side without pushing the rose out of the picture.

Labdanum creates a warm resinous foundation

Labdanum has a balsamic warmth that immediately adds depth. It feels denser and darker than bright citrus or fruit, making it a natural starting point for rose, saffron and the woods. Even before the deeper timber notes become prominent, the fragrance already has substantial warmth and weight.

That resinous warmth gives Oudh Ispahan a sensual, serious character. It is not sweet in the manner of vanilla or caramel; instead, it suggests amber-colored resin, dryness and softness at once. Beside rose and patchouli, it creates a rich oriental atmosphere.

Rose introduces velvety petals into the darker setting. Saffron adds dry golden spice, while patchouli contributes earthy depth. The bouquet remains floral, but it feels warmer and more shadowed than a light rose fragrance, giving the flower a fuller and more mature personality.

Saffron is especially useful because it connects flower and wood. Its dry warmth sits naturally beside rose, oud and cedar. Patchouli deepens the shadow without hiding the bloom. The rose becomes saturated and sensual, firmly rooted in the darker materials around it.

Texture is intense: warm resin, velvet petals, dry saffron and earthy patchouli. Those materials give Oudh Ispahan a strong identity before the deeper woods take over: balsamic warmth, dry spice, velvet rose and earthy patchouli remain distinctly tactile.

Oud, sandalwood and cedar create dark depth

Oud gives the base its most powerful woody note. Sandalwood softens that darkness with creamier wood, while cedar adds a straighter dry quality. Together they carry labdanum, rose, saffron and patchouli into a deep warm wooden setting rather than appearing as a separate final layer.

Sandalwood is important because it forms a smoother bridge between dry cedar and stronger oud. The base therefore does not feel rough or dark for its own sake. A polished warmth remains, leaving enough softness for the rose to stay present within the woods.

A rose fragrance for lovers of dark woods

Oudh Ispahan is not aimed at people who want rose to feel only fresh, green or airy. Here the flower sits among resin, saffron, patchouli and oud. Those materials make it denser, warmer and distinctly oriental while preserving the recognizable floral core.

Oud lovers receive more than dark wood as well. Rose contributes color and velvet, labdanum balsamic warmth and saffron spice. The woody character therefore feels rich rather than monochrome, with a clear floral counterpoint making every darker note more expressive.

The complete image is easy to picture as a dim warm room filled with resin, rose petals and polished timber. Nothing feels cool or transparent. The materials are saturated, dry, soft and warm, and that density is central to the fragrance's confident character.

Rose over resin and dark woods

Oudh Ispahan suits fragrance lovers who enjoy oriental rose perfumes with substantial woody depth. Labdanum and saffron provide warmth, patchouli earthiness, and oud, sandalwood and cedar shape the darker foundation. Rose remains the velvety center that keeps the perfume floral.

Oudh Ispahan by Sultan Essancy combines balsamic resin, velvet rose, dry saffron and dark woods in a powerful sensory picture. Sandalwood smooths the depth while cedar keeps it dry, creating a warm floral oud fragrance with clear contrast and personality.
