Sukkar by Sultan Essancy – Eau de Parfum for Women

Top notes: Pear, Guava
Heart notes: Tonka, Patchouli
Base notes: Oud, Musk

Sukkar by Sultan Essancy combines pear and guava with a heart of tonka and patchouli, followed by a base of oud and musk. The composition begins fruity, becomes warmer and deeper through the middle, and finally settles into a darker, softer foundation with a clearly defined finish.

The opening is built around two fruits with noticeably different characters. Pear feels juicy and soft, while guava introduces a more exotic fruit nuance. Together they create a fruity start that remains focused and already shows that Sukkar relies on contrast rather than an overloaded opening.

Pear and Guava Open the Fragrance

The pairing of pear and guava is what makes the top especially interesting. Pear brings a familiar, rounded fruit character, while guava adds a less conventional accent. This keeps the opening approachable while giving it enough individuality to avoid feeling like a generic sweet fruit blend.

In the heart, the focus changes clearly. Tonka and patchouli replace the fruity opening and guide the fragrance toward a warmer, deeper direction. Tonka contributes a soft and rounded facet, while patchouli adds an earthier and darker element that gives the middle more weight.

Tonka and Patchouli Add Depth

This combination creates a distinct contrast with the top. Instead of continuing the fruit theme, Sukkar develops a warmer centre with greater depth. The composition therefore does not feel linear, but changes character in a noticeable way from fruity to darker and more structured.

Anyone specifically looking for tonka will find the note already present in the heart rather than only at the very end. It plays an important role in the development and appears directly beside patchouli, giving the middle a clear identity and preparing the base naturally.

Patchouli acts as an effective bridge within the composition. It gives the heart a more earthy character while also creating a logical connection with the darker base. The transition to oud and musk therefore feels like a continuation of the depth already established in the middle.

Oud and Musk Define the Base

Oud and musk define the base. Oud gives the composition a strong, dark woody frame, while musk contributes a softer and calmer side. Together, these confirmed notes create a finish that feels clearly different from the fruity opening and completes the fragrance’s progression.

That strong contrast is a central part of Sukkar’s character. The fragrance does not begin woody, but with pear and guava. Only through tonka and patchouli does it arrive at oud and musk, making the overall development clearly divided into distinct and easy-to-follow stages.

Does Sukkar Match Your Preferences?

Sukkar is well suited to preferences that combine fruity notes with warmer and darker elements. Someone looking only for a light fruit fragrance will find more depth here, while an oud lover will encounter an opening that begins noticeably softer and fruitier before reaching the base.

For pear lovers, the opening is especially relevant because the note does not appear alone. Guava changes the fruit profile and gives the beginning a more exotic direction. The top therefore remains easy to understand while feeling more individual than a composition focused only on pear.

Patchouli fans can also assess the structure easily. The note appears in the heart beside tonka and forms the transition toward the base. It therefore has a structural role within the fragrance rather than appearing as an isolated accent, connecting warmth with later woody depth.

Oud only takes over in the base, leaving room for the fruity and warm stages that come before it. Anyone seeking oud without wanting a fragrance that feels entirely dark or woody from the first moment will find a clearly graduated composition with several distinct phases.

Clear Structure with Strong Contrasts

The fragrance structure remains straightforward despite its contrasts. Pear and guava define the beginning, tonka and patchouli shape the middle, and oud with musk determine the final stage. Each level changes the character while preserving a consistent sense of progression from start to finish.

If pear, guava, tonka, patchouli, oud, and musk are among the notes you actively enjoy, Sukkar offers a clearly organised way to experience them together. It moves from juicy fruit through warm depth to a distinctive, softly rounded base while remaining clearly positioned as a women’s fragrance.
