Black Afyun Sultan Essancy Eau de Parfum – for women

Top notes: pear, pink pepper, orange blossom
Heart notes: coffee, jasmine, vanilla, liquorice, bitter almond
Base notes: patchouli, cedar, cashmere wood

Black Afyun begins with pear, pink pepper and orange blossom in a friendly bright way, then deliberately turns darker in the heart. Coffee, jasmine, vanilla, liquorice and bitter almond create a layered gourmand centre before patchouli, cedar and cashmere wood give the fragrance a dry woody finish.

The scent is aimed at women and lives on contrasts. Juicy pear stands beside pepper, creamy vanilla beside bitter coffee and liquorice, white flowers beside dark woods. Black Afyun therefore remains sweet without ever becoming only soft or dessert-like.

Pear and pink pepper open with bright tension

Pear brings juicy, soft fruitiness to the top note. Pink pepper places a sparkling dry accent against it, while orange blossom connects both sides through flowers. The start feels feminine and inviting but already carries a small spicy edge.

Pear matters because it creates a very different starting colour from the coffee that follows. Instead of becoming dark immediately, Black Afyun first establishes brightness. The change in the heart therefore has more impact and makes the fragrance feel more dynamic.

Orange blossom smooths the relationship between fruit and pepper. It softens the opening without making it sweeter. The first stage feels elegant and open before coffee, liquorice and bitter almond make the scent noticeably denser.

Coffee, liquorice and bitter almond darken the heart

Coffee appears beside jasmine, vanilla, liquorice and bitter almond in the centre. Its roasted bitter quality strongly contrasts the pear. Vanilla brings warmth, while liquorice and bitter almond continue the darker, slightly bitter direction. That contrast gives the fragrance additional depth and definition.

Jasmine is more than a decorative flower here. It brings light into the middle and prevents coffee, almond and liquorice from feeling too compact. Black Afyun stays clearly feminine while gaining a distinctive gourmand side with noticeably bitter contours.

The relationship between vanilla and bitterness is particularly attractive. Sweetness rounds the heart but does not take control. Coffee, liquorice and bitter almond keep the centre tense, making Black Afyun interesting for someone who finds pure vanilla fragrances too smooth.

Patchouli and cedar dry the base

Patchouli, cedar and cashmere wood meet in the base. Cedar brings dry structure, patchouli adds dark earthiness, and cashmere wood provides a smoother woody texture. The scent therefore moves even further from the juicy pear that opened it.

This base is essential because it catches the gourmand heart. Vanilla and coffee remain in memory, but woods bring greater calm and seriousness to the finish. Black Afyun does not end in sticky sweetness; it becomes warmer and much more structured.

Cashmere wood keeps the transition from becoming too hard. Between dry cedar and darker patchouli, it creates a smoother surface. The finish therefore feels cohesive and still relates to the softness of orange blossom from the opening despite the change in fragrance family.

Gourmand with bitter and woody counterpoints

Black Afyun is fruity, floral, gourmand, vanilla-toned, bitter-spicy and woody. It suits a feminine taste that loves coffee and vanilla but also wants liquorice, bitter almond, pepper and dry woods as contrast. Orange blossom keeps pear and pepper elegantly connected despite their contrast.

Anyone who enjoys sweet fragrances framed by darker materials receives a well-balanced profile here. Pear makes the opening approachable, coffee gives the heart personality, and the woody base provides definition. No stage feels like a simple repetition of the one before it.

From bright pear to dark coffee and wood

The progression is the real signature of Black Afyun. It starts soft and fruity, becomes roasted, bitter and sweet at the same time in the heart, then finishes dry and woody. That movement gives it more depth than a linear coffee-vanilla gourmand.

For lovers of coffee, bitter almond, vanilla and patchouli, Black Afyun offers a feminine interpretation that is far from harmless. Sweetness remains present, yet every stage reframes it through fruit, spice, bitterness or wood. This makes the contrast even clearer.

Liquorice and bitter almond give Black Afyun an especially recognisable signature. Both echo the bitter side of coffee and place limits around the vanilla. Together with pink pepper and patchouli, they create a feminine gourmand whose sweetness is always framed by darker contours.
