Laleh by Sultan Essancy - Eau de Parfum for women and men
Top notes: black currant, pomegranate, citrus fruits
Heart notes: jasmine, freesia, sweet pea
Base notes: amber
Laleh opens with blackcurrants, pomegranate and citrus fruits. Blackcurrant brings dark berry depth, pomegranate adds juicy tartness, and citrus throws light across both. The first impression feels bright and colourful without becoming pure sweetness or sharp citrus freshness.
Pomegranate is the liveliest part of the fruit blend. It sits between deeper cassis and brighter citrus, connecting both sides with a crisp juicy character. This gives Laleh an energetic start that feels fruity, slightly tart and clean at the same time.
Berries and pomegranate in the light
Jasmine, freesia and sweet pea create an airy floral centre. Jasmine gives fuller petals, freesia feels brighter and sweet pea adds delicate softness. The flowers absorb the fruit without covering it under heavy white-floral richness, keeping the scent light and graceful.
Freesia works especially well with the citrus brightness from the start. It keeps the heart transparent, while jasmine adds more body and sweet pea contributes gentle sweetness. Laleh therefore stays floral and luminous after the juicy fruit rather than turning creamy or dense.
Amber stands alone in the base, providing a warm frame without changing the fragrance into vanilla, wood or musk. After berries, pomegranate and light flowers, amber feels like golden light in the background, adding softness while preserving the airy identity.
Freesia, jasmine and sweet pea
The simple amber base is part of Laleh's clarity. There is no long list of warm notes competing with the fruit and flowers. Amber merely rounds the picture, allowing the brighter blossoms and deeper fruits to remain visible inside a warm glow.
Imagine blackcurrants and pomegranate in sunlight beside freesia, jasmine and sweet pea. A warm amber tone lies underneath. That scene describes Laleh neatly: fruity and floral, with enough warmth to feel rounded but not enough to make it heavy.
Cassis appears in a brighter setting than in dark berry gourmands. Pomegranate and citrus make the fruit more energetic, while freesia and sweet pea add air. Amber warms the later impression without bringing in caramel, vanilla or other dessert-like notes.
Amber gives a warm frame
Pomegranate gives the berry opening a crisp, jewel-like quality. It is brighter and more tart than blackcurrant, while citrus lifts both. When the flowers arrive, that lively fruit character becomes softer and more elegant rather than simply fading into sweetness.
Jasmine stays relatively light because freesia and sweet pea share the heart. The floral middle does not become heavily white-floral. The memory of citrus reinforces this transparency and makes the later amber warmth feel softer and more noticeable by contrast.
Fruity and floral without heaviness
Laleh can be understood as a bright berry floral with amber warmth. Blackcurrant brings depth, pomegranate brings juice, citrus provides light, and the flowers make the middle graceful. Amber supplies a golden background without adding a new heavy theme.
Fruit lovers who prefer to avoid creamy vanilla bases may appreciate how direct the ending is. The warmth comes from amber alone, so fruit and flowers remain more visible. Laleh feels less gourmand than many modern berry fragrances and stays clearly luminous.
Laleh and its bright side
Sweet pea is a fine detail that gives the heart a gentle, feminine sweetness. Beside freesia and jasmine it feels delicate rather than sugary. This softness suits the pomegranate and helps the fruit feel polished instead of too sharp or acidic.
The mental picture is ruby fruit and pale flowers. Cassis and pomegranate provide the deep colours, citrus and freesia the light, jasmine and sweet pea the softness. Amber adds a warm golden rim around the whole scene without weighing it down.
Laleh leaves a clear link between blackcurrant, pomegranate, freesia, jasmine and amber. Bright fruit, airy flowers and gentle warmth remain easy to recognise, giving the fragrance a feminine freshness that gradually settles into a soft golden finish.
