Sukkar Zehri by Sultan Essancy – Eau de Parfum for women
Top notes: raspberry, orange, bergamot, fig leaf
Heart notes: cotton candy, liquorice, strawberry, red berries, lily of the valley
Base notes: vanilla, caramel, tonka, musk, sandalwood
Sukkar Zehri opens surprisingly fresh for such a sweet fragrance. Raspberry brings red juiciness, orange and bergamot add citrus light, and fig leaf introduces a green edge. The beginning feels lively and stops the scent falling immediately into sugar.
Raspberry and citrus with a green fig-leaf twist
Fig leaf is the small troublemaker in the best possible way. Between raspberry and orange it feels green and slightly dry. That gives the fruit more definition and makes the opening resemble a fragrant basket with leaves rather than simple juice.
Bergamot keeps raspberry bright, while orange adds more roundness. This makes the later cotton candy feel even more obvious because the scent begins with fruit and greenery instead of already being completely gourmand.
Cotton candy meets liquorice and red fruits
The heart becomes more playful. Cotton candy adds airy sweetness, strawberry and red berries strengthen the fruity side, and liquorice draws a dark line through them. Lily of the valley places a small bright floral accent beside the sweets.
Liquorice is especially important. It gives cotton candy a black slightly spiced contrast and prevents the heart becoming pure pink candy. Beside strawberry, that darker note feels unusual and gives Sukkar Zehri much more personality.
Lily of the valley keeps the centre fragrant. It is small compared with the sweet notes, but it adds freshness and air. The heart therefore does not smell only like confectionery even though cotton candy is clearly part of the attraction.
Vanilla and caramel make the scent rounder
Vanilla and caramel become warmer in the base. Tonka rounds the sweetness, musk smooths the surface, and sandalwood adds a creamy woody floor. The playful middle therefore settles into something calmer and softer underneath.
Sandalwood is the strongest counterweight to caramel. Its dry creaminess supports the sweetness without adding more sugar. Musk strengthens that smooth effect, allowing the gourmand character to remain obvious without making the finish feel sticky.
The red fruit leaves a memory behind. Raspberry, strawberry and berries create a visual thread from the beginning into the sweet heart, while vanilla and caramel later change the texture more than the colour of the scent.
Sandalwood keeps the sweetness grounded
Sukkar Zehri is therefore much more than cotton candy. Green fig leaf, citrus, liquorice and sandalwood create genuine contrasts. If sweet fragrances appeal most when they have a darker or greener edge, several of those details appear here.
The sweetness is still bold and should be. Cotton candy, vanilla and caramel stand confidently in the picture. They are not hidden, only framed by fruit, liquorice and wood so that the result feels playful rather than one-dimensional.
If liquorice is a note you dislike, take it seriously. It is only one part of the heart, but it changes the mood. If you enjoy liquorice, that contrast is exactly what separates this from many strawberry or cotton-candy gourmands.
For sweet-toothed fragrance lovers who enjoy contrast
Fig leaf also makes the opening less predictable. It is leafy rather than sweet fig fruit. That dry green tone sits beside all the red fruit and gives the first impression extra freshness and a more distinctive personality.
Picture raspberries and oranges resting on green leaves, then a cloud of cotton candy, strawberry and liquorice above them. Caramel melts into vanilla underneath, while sandalwood and musk quietly catch the sweetness and keep it soft.
What remains is a colourful playful gourmand crossed by a darker stripe. Sukkar Zehri combines red fruit, cotton candy and caramel, while liquorice, fig leaf and sandalwood keep enough space to turn simple sweetness into something more characterful.
Fragrance profile: berry-fruity, candied-sweet, lightly green, vanilla-rich and creamy-woody
